Canada Ready to Host the WorldCanada Inline Press Release
2004 FIRS WORLD INLINE
CHAMPIONSHIPS
For Immediate Release: Thursday April
22nd, 2004
No:WC-001-04
LONDON, Ontario, Canada - Canada
Inline ready to roll into the 2004 FIRS
World Inline Championships in London,
Ontario.
June 19th marks the day when teams
from around the world will begin to show
up in London, Ontario in preparation for
the 2004 FIRS World Inline Hockey
Championships. After a disappointing
bronze medal Team Canada looks to
reclaim past golden glories on their
home turf and Canada Inline CEO Dave
Easter says this should be the most
exciting event ever. “This will be the
largest and most exciting World Inline
Championship yet. After disappointing
finishes last year for our men and
women, our Canadian Inline teams are
looking to reclaim the title of World
Champions”. The 2003 World
Championship event held in Pisek,
Czech Republic ended in Bronze for the
Canadian Men’s Team as they lost to a
well-balanced and skilled host Czech
Republic Team in the semi-finals.
However, the stiffest competition for all
of the teams in 2004 will be the
defending World Champions from the
United States. The women’s gold medal
game was a classic battle of Canada vs
USA with the Americans coming out on
top to claim bragging rights as the best
in the world. The host Czech Republic
captured the bronze medal on the
women’s side with a victory over
Germany.
