LONDON, Ontario, Canada - Canada Inline ready to roll into the 2004 FIRS World Inline Championships in London, Ontario.
June 19th marks the day when teams from around the world will begin to show up in London, Ontario in preparation for the 2004 FIRS World Inline Hockey Championships. After a disappointing bronze medal Team Canada looks to reclaim past golden glories on their home turf and Canada Inline CEO Dave Easter says this should be the most exciting event ever. “This will be the largest and most exciting World Inline Championship yet. After disappointing finishes last year for our men and women, our Canadian Inline teams are looking to reclaim the title of World Champions”. The 2003 World Championship event held in Pisek, Czech Republic ended in Bronze for the Canadian Men’s Team as they lost to a well-balanced and skilled host Czech Republic Team in the semi-finals. However, the stiffest competition for all of the teams in 2004 will be the defending World Champions from the United States. The women’s gold medal game was a classic battle of Canada vs USA with the Americans coming out on top to claim bragging rights as the best in the world. The host Czech Republic captured the bronze medal on the women’s side with a victory over Germany. More...
