The Canada Women’s Inline Hockey Team entered the world stage when it competed in the inaugural FIRS Women’s Inline Hockey Championships in Rochester, USA in 2002. After being crowned Gold Medal Champions that year, the expectations were set. With the exception of 2007 and 2015, our women have participated in the FIRS World Championships every year since. They have always been a strong competitor; finishing top 3 each year, having won numerous FIRS World Inline Hockey Championship titles.
Over the years, the Canadian Team has consisted of a variety of highly skilled and talented female ice and inline hockey players. Team members have come with international ice hockey experience from the Olympics, NWHL (National Women’s Hockey League), CWHL (Canadian Women’s Hockey League), PWHL (Provincial Women’s Hockey League), European League experience, as well as Canadian and American University experience. They have had to juggle school, careers, families and other obligations to fulfill their dream of representing their country, playing a sport that is “young” and that they love.
We are continuing the tradition of excellence as we invite players to register for this years Team Canada Tryouts. Tryouts are for players 18 years of age and older looking to showcase their game, see how they compare and take it to the next level. Tryouts are hosted across the country in multiple provinces as Canada Inline is looking for the best female players to represent Canada and compete at an international level.
